Tribute to the Very Reverend Dr. Festus Asana
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” (Mark 10: 43-45)
With profound sorrow, yet with hearts filled with deep gratitude, we honour the life and legacy of the Moderator Emeritus of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC)
The Very Reverend Dr. Festus Asana,
a faithful servant of God, a devoted shepherd of the Church, and an inspiring leader whose impact continues to transcend borders.
Following the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ, Rev. Dr. Asana lived out a ministry defined by service, integrity, discipline, and love. His life bore witness to the transformative power of faith lived authentically, and with a passion for the unity and growth of the Church.
With clarity of vision and firmness of principle, yet always with respect, compassion and an attitude of servant leadership, the Very Reverend became a beacon of hope and orientation for countless individuals, communities and churches in Cameroon, across Africa, and on the global stage.
Today, as we bid him farewell together with the Asana family and with the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, we do so not only in mourning, but also in celebrating a life that was richly given in service to God and to humanity—a life that leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, leadership, and enduring impact.
May his example continue to guide us.
May his memory remain a blessing.
And may his soul rest in the eternal peace of our Lord.
